Backtrack Privacy Policy
Effective September 13, 2026
Backtrack is a standalone Wear OS app provided by Adam Rho LLC. It saves waypoints and shows the direction and distance back to them. This policy explains how the app handles information and how to contact us.
Location and saved information
With your permission, Backtrack accesses your device’s precise location to save your current position and calculate direction and distance to a waypoint. You can also enter waypoint coordinates manually. The app uses motion and compass sensors to calculate heading.
Backtrack stores waypoint names, coordinates, accuracy, creation time, source, and available altitude in private app storage on your watch. It also stores display settings, recent waypoint names, and the latest location fix, which can include coordinates, accuracy, speed, bearing, and time. The latest fix supports features such as the watch tile. Backtrack does not maintain a history of your route.
Permissions
Location permission supports saving your position and navigation. Notification permission supports the ongoing navigation notification. You can change these permissions in the watch’s system settings. Backtrack does not request background-location permission.
Data sent to us and other services
Backtrack has no user accounts, advertising, analytics SDK, or crash-reporting SDK. The app does not upload your waypoints or location to Adam Rho LLC, and we do not operate a server that receives this app data. We do not sell your information.
Backtrack uses Google Play services to obtain device location. Android, Google Play, and Google’s location services may process platform, diagnostic, or location information under their own settings and policies. See Google’s Privacy Policy. Google Play handles app purchases; Backtrack does not receive your payment-card details.
Android backup and device transfer
Android backup is enabled for Backtrack. Depending on your device and system settings, app data may be included in system backups or transferred to another device. This can include saved waypoints, recent names, settings, and the latest location fix. These copies are managed by your system’s backup provider, not by Adam Rho LLC.
Storage and deletion
Saved data remains in app storage until it is replaced or deleted. Deleting a waypoint removes that waypoint from the current list, but its name may remain among recent names, and the latest location fix is stored separately. Clear Backtrack’s app storage in the watch’s system settings or uninstall the app to remove its local data. System backups may retain earlier copies or restore data on a later installation; manage those copies through your backup settings.
We cannot access or delete waypoints stored on your watch. Backtrack has no account to delete.
Support and privacy requests
If you email contact@adamrho.com, we receive your email address, message, and any attachments you send. Our email forwarding and mailbox providers process these messages so we can respond. We use support messages to answer requests and resolve problems, and retain them while needed for that purpose or to meet legal obligations. You can request deletion by emailing the same address. You do not need to send your saved coordinates to ask for help.
Security
Backtrack stores its local data in Android’s app-private storage and uses system permission controls for location access. Device security and system backup protections depend on your device and settings. No storage or communication method is completely secure.
